ELECTIONS AND RECEPTION – AUGUST 21, 2003
Elections for 2004 MLS and NKAR Directors will take place on August 21, 2003 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the NKAR office and from 4-5 p.m. at The Marquise in Wilder. All members that vote will receive a new membership directory after they place their vote. A reception sponsored by the Affiliate members will be held at The Marquise from 4-7 p.m. with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The winners of the election will be announced at approximately 6 p.m. The reception is free to NKAR members and $20 for non-members and guests. SO THERE WILL BE ENOUGH HORS D’OEUVRES RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED BY 5 PM ON AUGUST 13TH. There will also be a silent auction for RPAC held at the reception. As you can see, it will be a fun-filled evening that you don’t want to miss. Call 344-8400 to make your reservation today.

BUSINESS ISSUES
REGISTER TODAY FOR THE GOLF OUTING AND KAR CONVENTION!
The Northern Kentucky Association of REALTORS® in conjunction with the Kentucky Association of REALTORS® is proud to announce the 2003 NKAR Golf Outing. These events will kick-off weeklong activities at the KAR Convention being held September 15-18 in Covington Kentucky. For questions, call Jack Hoffman at 859-442-4330.

Hole Sponsorships are $150 ($125 for those registered for or sponsoring the Convention). The deadline for golf outing registration is September 1st. note: Affiliates must sponsor to participate.
Golf Outing:
Monday September 15th
Shotgun start at approx. 10:00 AM
Lunch at approx 11:30

Golf should finish approx 4:30 PM
Short reception and awards ceremony to follow
For all non-golfers: There will be a Euchre Tournament ($15 fee including lunch) in the clubhouse.
The deadline for Euchre registration is September 3rd.

EDUCATION
“Let the MLS Be Your Advantage” will be held from 9 to noon in the NKAR computer lab on Tuesday, August 19th. Reservations are required by calling 344-8400. There will be 3 hours of elective Kentucky continuing education given for this class. Fee is $25 for NKAR members and $50 for non-members.

MLS ISSUES
DO NOT DELETE LISTING CONTRACT ATTACHMENTS
Listing Contracts are only seen by the listing agent, co-listing agent, broker, admin staff, and MLS staff. Other agents and companies can not see your listing contract unless it is attached under another type of document that is not restricted. MLS has been notified that agents are deleting the listing contract and this makes your company liable to receive a fine for not having the contract attached. MLS will not waive any fines received by firms because an agent deleted the listing contract.

CHANGING PASSWORDS
NKMLS suggests that you consider changing your password for MLS every month. One suggestion on setting up a password is to create a sentence about yourself such as: Mary drives a red Toyota Sienna mini van. Use the first letter of each word, and for the numbers use another character. The password would be---Mdartsmv A password like this would be very hard for someone to crack. Also note that your password can not be longer than eight (8) characters.

TECHNOLOGY
HONK Computer Donation Program
A big thank you goes out to everyone who has donated hardware to this program. However we need your continuing help.
Currently we have a lot of monitors, printers and keyboards but no actual computers or software. Please be on the lookout for these items in and around the office, at home, or when you buy a new computer. In terms of software we are looking for old copies of windows 98 and newer, Microsoft office 97 and newer, and any children's educational software. To donate contact Greg Given at 344-8400.
